5. Skills

Just like all professional athletes realize that they need to look at their skills as the ability of the entire body to respond and therefore use the practice of Yoga, enterprises must also understand this is an age of not specialized isolated skills but rather one of unified understanding of performance.

Skills for the emerging economy are fundamentally different from previous economy versions in every industry and aspect of life. For one, they are most technology centric with digital duality playing a critical role in bridging the divide between the physical and virtual. The five dimensions that are woven here are a must for every enterprise to develop to be successful going into the future.

5.1 Design Thinking

Design thinking is the method of bridging the potential of the future with the performance of the present. This skill of abstracting the future and charting a course for it through modeling and solution engineering is a very definitive science that needs to be embraced by the enterprise. Does your enterprise see its role in these revolutionary times differently from the past monolithic structures?

5.2 Design

Adapting the engines, components and connectors from the solution engineering environment and converting them into applications that work in providing a greater engagement and experience to enterprise customers is a natural follow-up to design thinking. Is this the perspective of design that operates your enterprise?

5.3 Architecture

The architecture of the enterprise must first of all accommodate the seamless transport of  intellectual property (IP) from conceptualization to commercialization in a continuum. When this is achieved then the customer engagement and experience must be seamless through the deployment of platform, product. process and project at the rate of customer demand. Do the skills in your enterprise see this connection to create the layered architecture that is demanded of the future enterprises?

5.4 Industry Specialization

The Industry is morphing into ecosystems. A connected economy requires an enterprise that understands and mimics orchestration of services. One that transcends from node to node in a continuum. Where a very high level of commitment to intellectual capital production comes into play using the above three streams of design thinking, design and architecture; bringing innovation to life with digital technology at its center. How is your enterprise coping with this demand?

5.1 Digital Technology

Pervasive computing surrounded by machine learning supported by artificial intelligence (AI), neural network programing (NNP) and neuro linguistic programing (NLP),  robotics, 3D & 4D printing, biotechnology, nanotechnology and enmeshed networks are changing life the way we know. New life and enterprise applications are required to harness these technologies to remain relevant and therefore the use of the previous four disciplines  (skills) to understand how to build successful applications that can bridge potential with performance. Does your enterprise see this connection between the five critical skills similarly?
